ANNUAL BAWB BRAZIL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

In 2003 BAWB Brazil held its first international conference which was a great success and more than 1200 attendees from around the globe attended what was the first event of its kind in Brazil.

In July of 2004, BAWB Brazil held a workshop in Curatiba, Brazil, where the executive BAWB Brazil team formally established their mission and norms. Participants of the three-day workshop participated in an appreciative inquiry (AI) design to develop world inquiry interviewing skill-sets, create standards of selection for BAWB Brazil exemplar stories (which were showcased at the 2004 BAWB Brazil International Conference), flesh out the purpose of the 2nd BAWB International Conference, absorb theory behind the AI approach, review recent global AI interventions, and design follow-up steps. Soon after, the new team was working full time on the preparation of the conference and identifying important cases to be presented.

On November 25th and 26th the BAWB conference launched with an international presence. Key innovations were presented, and 11 action areas were identified. The BAWB Brazil work had culminated into a successful event with approximately 600 attendees per a day.

In December 2004, the BAWB Brazil 2005 conference challenge was established:

"Partnerships for Regional, Federal and Global development"
October 5th - 7th 2005, Curatiba, Brazil.
