 The World Inquiry into Business as an Agent of World Benefit celebrated the New Year by signing a partnership agreement with Net Impact, a leading international organization that unites over 13,000 MBA students and young professionals dedicated to using business to create a positive net social, environmental, and economic impact.
Inspired by a joint vision that centers around increasing knowledge about the positive role business is playing in society, BAWB and Net Impact will co-host a year-long competition to find the best stories of business-in-society innovations. The competition is open to all members of Net Impact.
Separated into two phases, the contest will run through the Spring and Fall semesters of 2006, with the first winner announced at the 3rd Annual International B•A•W•B Online Conference in May 2006, and the second winner announced at the Annual Net Impact Conference in November 2006.
The Spring 2006 contest, titled Global Discovery Contest: U.N. Millennium Development Goals as Business Opportunity, invites Net Impact members to shine the spotlight on innovative projects, products, processes, and tools that allow business to successfully address the most grinding problems of the new millennium while building a stronger bottom line. With the deadline for submissions set at April 1st, 2006, the Global Discover Contest specifically look for stories in six categories:
· Eliminating Poverty Through Profits
· Business as an Agent of Environmental Sustainability
· Peace as Business Opportunity
· Business as an Agent of Universal Health
· Universal Education as Business Interest
· Business as an Agent of Gender Equality
All submissions are to be reviewed by an international board of judges, with top submissions featured via the BAWB Innovations Bank, and the best story named the winner on May 4th, 2006, at the 3rd Annual International B•A•W•B Online Conference. |
